Golfers associate the TPC name with quality, and the Tom Fazio and Lanny Wadkins designed offering in Myrtle Beach certainly delivers. TPC Myrtle Beach, which has hosted the Senior PGA Tour Championship, is one of the Grand Strand’s finest designs.
The layout will test every facet of your game – it was the home course for PGA Tour Superstar Dustin Johnson after all – but the challenge is always fair and more than a little memorable.
The ninth hole, which plays 445 yards from the white tees, might be the toughest par 4 along the Myrtle Beach golf scene. To counter that length, the course has several short par 4s, including the 322-yard 10th hole, that provide players ample opportunities to score.
While the layout is strong throughout, it’s the finish golfers talk about long after they’ve gone home.
The par 3 17th hole has a green exposed on three sides to water and conjures up images of the iconic 17th at TPC Sawgrass. The 18th is a par 5 that has a stream dissecting the fairway approximately 300 yards from the tee and a lake runs along the final 200 yards of fairway. It’s a great finishing hole.
