River Oaks – the 2015 Myrtle Beach Area Golf Course of the Year – is a story of a redemption, commitment and, most importantly to you the consumer, a quality round of golf.
The revival of River Oaks, a 27-hole facility, isn’t a recent occurrence. In 2011, architect Craig Schreiner led a major renovation of the Fox and Otter nines that included new greens, cart paths and bunkering, in addition to a tree removal project that has opened up the layout.
Throw in a new practice putting green and the installation of a clubhouse patio and River Oaks offers a lively experience.
The Fox and Otter nines have received the bulk of the post-renovation attention, but don’t sleep on the Bear nine, which is in the midst of a gradual overhaul. The bunkers on the Bear nine have been renovated and cart paths and new greens are on the horizon.
River Oaks offers a prime location, views of the Intracoastal Waterway, and tremendous value, a winning combination.
