Jones Course at Sea Trail Keeps Getting Better

The Rees Jones Course at Sea Trail Resort is the flagship layout at the 54-hole facility in Brunswick County, N.C., highlighted by greens complexes that are as challenging as they are enjoyable to play.

The fairways on the Jones Course are plenty wide and players are typically well-served by swinging away off the tee. The layout plays the longest of the three at Sea Trail, including several par 4s that are at least 395 yards from the white tees.

The most significant challenge on the Jones Course is hitting those elevated greens, so spend a little extra time working on your wedge game before heading to the first tee.

The fifth tee presents the most memorable shot of the day. A par 3, No. 5 plays 155 yards from the white tees and it’s all carry over water, often leaving players with sweaty palms as they address the ball.

The Jones Course underwent a bunker renovation project and repaved its cart paths in 2015 and will install new Champion Bermuda grass greens this summer, ensuring the layout will remain among the area’s hidden gems.
