Great Food, Cold Beer, Live Music: What Could be Better Than That?

Kick your mood into full gear with a meal at The Grumpy Monk in Carolina Forest

The Grumpy Monk serves up quality food, fresh sushi, ice-cold craft beer and great live music from the best local musicians, making it a must-try for all Myrtle Beach Golf Passport members, who receive 10 percent off regular priced items as part of the Passport’s fantastic list of Member Benefits. Here’s what to love about The Grumpy Monk.

The Grumpy Monk’s full menu features starters like “Monk Turds,” a delicious combination of fresh jalapenos, cream cheese, bacon and scallions, breaded and then lightly fried, as well as their “Famous Monk Wings,” which are dry-rubbed, mesquite smoked, then tossed in one of 12 out-of-this-world sauces.

For entrée selections, their build-your-own salad bar option is far more than your average dinner salad, with a huge variety of fresh produce, proteins, cheeses and dressings to choose from. For meat lovers, try the crab-stuffed flounder, fresh Atlantic flounder stuffed with blue lump crab and topped with herb cream. Or, order the Greek chicken, grilled chicken covered in roasted red peppers, black olives, spinach, tomatoes, feta cheese and Greek dressing. Their burgers and hand-helds are also incredibly tasty.

Another unique taste to try when you visit The Grumpy Monk is their sushi. You have to try the Bohemian Roll, a deep-fried spicy salmon, cream cheese, crab and asparagus roll topped with avocado, cucumber, sweet peppers and crab with tangy Thai sweet chili sauce.

Of course, The Grump Monk also features a beer menu with myriad craft beers on tap and one of the Grand Strand’s finest Happy Hours, served daily from 4-7 p.m. Happy Hour specials include $1 bone-in wings, discounted sushi and $2.75 well drinks. In addition, stop by on a weekend and stay for their Local Tunes series from 6-9 p.m. Here’s a full schedule.

It’s no secret that there are tons of restaurants to choose from during your stay in Myrtle Beach. With only a limited number of meals, you MUST make time for one at The Grumpy Monk in Carolina Forest. You will not regret it, and as a Myrtle Beach Golf Passport member, neither will your wallet!
