Tradition Club Continue to Shine Along the South Strand

Surrounded by some of the area’s most prominent courses in Pawleys Island, Tradition Golf Club has earned its reputation as one of the area’s quiet stars.

A 4.5-star layout, according to Golf Digest, the Ron Garl design is renowned for the variety of its challenges, allowing players to bomb the driver on one tee while rewarding accuracy on the next. The greens, which average 8,500-square feet, provide an ample target and are typically open in the front, providing multiple ways to find the putting surface.

On a course where water isn’t an overwhelming presence, the two most memorable holes are island greens. The par 4 seventh hole plays 377 yards, but the final 100 are over water that surrounds the green.

The 15th is a 157-yard, island green par 3 that allows some bailout room to the left in the form of two bunkers and the green is 46-yards deep, so there is no lack of area to find a dry landing spot.

Tradition Club has five sets of tees, ranging from 4,106 to 6,875 yards, and is an enjoyable layout to play.
